We didn't survive the recent power failure and lost all the 300,000 results crunched since yesterday.. Restarting everything - I apologize for all the 'not-needed' results from now on - we cannot make use of them at all. It's not only that our power failed, but also our UPS, it was too much for the DB, and the problem was revealed only now.

We anounce the very first Superlink challenge!!!! We must finish this batch as fast as possible to show the peak performance of the system. This is a new 2 mlns jobs batch, and we do hope that this time there will be no glitches. The analysis of the previous run will be published soon on our forums..
Feb 11, 2009
Long time no talk... We have just started a huge (about 2.5 mlns jobs) batch, after fixing most of the glitches we were aware of. We hope to see all our crunchers back. Hope it will run to completion as fast as the previous batch. Happy crunching!.
Nov 27, 2008

We are currently upgrading our back-end, this will result in some temporary outages.
Nov 17, 2008
Due to the excessive load on the back-end we had to remove the data about all the results that have been crunched in the past two weeks; we are currently working on the solution that will both enable storing the historical data and will not create such a load on our server.

We have just allowed BOINC clients from EGEE, Madison Condor pool and our local Condor pool to connect to Superlink@Technion. All the clients belong to fictitious users, all of which are part of the team, called 'Clusters'. You are now able to compare the performance of your computers to the performance of entire pools/grids. Vital statistics of these clients can be now accessed from the homepage.

We are observing about a half of the expected throughput of the system, without any apparent reasons. WUs are consumed with about a half of the expected rate, while there are not so many errors and rather few deadline misses. We'd appreciate any opinion regarding possible reasons of this issue.

July 29, 2008
Our last batch which had been started about a month ago finished successfully yesterday, thanks to over 2,800 active contributors! It contained over 1.4 million WUs, and the results are beyond the expectations - we are almost certain that the mutation that causes the disease is there! It's actually the first time the system confirmed the hypothesis (while in all previous runs it was proved incorrect). New run is to be started soon.
July 17, 2008
All the platforms were updated. The update will hopefully give response to what BOINC clients recognized as DLL initialization errors.

Other things:
1. Over 1ExaFLOPs, which is 1000 PFLOPs during the last month - it is about 385GFLOP/sec ( 385 modern CPUs working all the time).
2. A lot of interesting statistics were added and validated, such as average time it takes for a WU to complete (including all the restarts), the number of computers which we'd need to buy to get the same performance, and many others: click here to see more.
